Week 6 - Emotional Mastery, Solar Plexus Gates and Channels
Week 6 Recap: Understanding Your Emotional Blueprint
Welcome back, everyone! This week in Your Emotional Mastery Blueprint cohort, we took a deep dive into emotional design, exploring the gates, channels, and waves that shape our unique emotional experiences. If you missed the session or want a refresher, here’s a recap of what we covered.
Opening the Sacred Space
We started with a grounding practice to set the tone for deep introspection. After centering ourselves, we took a moment to reflect on last week’s insights, sharing key takeaways and experiences before moving into this week’s exploration.
Exploring Your Unique Emotional Blueprint
Our focus this week was the Solar Plexus Center, the hub of emotional energy in Human Design. We explored the Emotional Gates, often called "Fear Gates" (distinct from the Spleen's fear gates). These gates don’t just hold fear—they also carry nervousness, anxiety, and uncertainty around emotions, relationships, and self-expression.
The Emotional Solar Plexus Gates & Their Themes
🔹 Gate 22 (Individual) – Grace, The Gate of Openness
Themes: Dishonor → Graciousness → Grace
Fear of Silence – You may feel open to listening but unsure if others will listen to you or if you have anything worth sharing.
🔹 Gate 55 (Individual) – Abundance, The Gate of Spirit
Themes: Victimization → Freedom → Freedom
Fear of Emptiness – Melancholy that is deeply personal, often feeling a nervous uncertainty about what to be passionate about.
🔹 Gate 6 (Tribal) – Conflict, The Gate of Friction
Themes: Conflict → Diplomacy → Peace
Fear of Intimacy – Openness or resistance to intimacy, coupled with nervousness about revealing your true self to others.
🔹 Gate 37 (Tribal) – The Family, The Gate of Friendship
Themes: Weakness → Equality → Tenderness
Fear of Tradition – This gate generates bargains and agreements based on tribal principles, often bringing anxiety about taking on traditional roles in life.
🔹 Gate 49 (Tribal) – Revolution, The Gate of Principles
Themes: Reaction → Revolution → Rebirth
Fear of (Human) Nature – Accepts or rejects principles based on the needs of the tribe. Holds anxiety around rejection, unpredictability, and consequences.
🔹 Gate 36 (Collective) – Endarkenment/Enlightenment, The Gate of Crisis
Themes: Turbulence → Humanity → Compassion
Fear of Inadequacy – A hunger for new experiences paired with nervousness about emotional or sexual adequacy.
🔹 Gate 30 (Collective) – The Clinging Fire, The Gate of Feelings
Themes: Desire → Lightness → Rapture
Fear of the Fates – A deep desire to feel fully, often with nervousness about what may or may not happen.
Understanding Emotional Wave Dynamics
Each emotional channel carries a wave pattern that influences our experience of emotions. Recognizing these patterns helps us navigate emotions with clarity and patience rather than getting caught in reactionary cycles.
Types of Emotional Waves
🌀 Individual Wave (Passion) – Gates 39/55 & 12/22
Operates through moodiness, emotional sensations, and melancholy.
Peaks when “in the mood.”
Tends to be even-keel but has occasional spikes of intensity.
Knowing when to be alone vs. social is key.
🌀 Tribal Wave (Need) – Gates 19/49 & 37/40
Builds tension over time, leading to emotional releases (sometimes as outbursts).
Highly sensitive to physical touch, which can reset the wave.
🌀 Collective Wave (Desire) – Gates 35/36 & 30/41
Driven by expectations, leading to highs and lows.
Emotional crashes happen when expectations are unmet.
Learning to let go of attachment to outcomes helps regulate the wave.
🌀 The Source Wave (6/59)
The root of all other emotional waves.
Penetrates auric fields, breaking down barriers and fostering intimacy.
Naturally calm but requires interaction to be fully expressed.
Navigating Your Emotional Waves
To work with your emotional design, practice:✅ Recognizing the rise and fall of your emotions.✅ Being aware of how your wave impacts others.✅ Allowing clarity to emerge naturally—don’t rush decisions in an emotional high or low.✅ Practicing self-compassion and patience with your process.
For Undefined or Open Solar Plexus participants:✨ Emotions can feel amplified due to external influences.✨ Observe emotional energy without identifying with it.✨ Reflect on how certain gates activate your experience rather than reacting.
Bonus Discussion: Managing Amplified Emotional Energy in Open CentersWe also talked about strategies for managing emotional absorption if you have an undefined Solar Plexus. Observing instead of internalizing is key.
Self-Awareness Exercise: Journaling for Clarity
Take some time to explore these prompts:📖 What emotions frequently arise for me, and how do they impact my decisions?📖 How do I currently manage my emotional wave? What has worked or not worked?📖 What triggers emotional responses in me, and how can I navigate them better?📖 How do I sense the emotional energy of others, and how do I interact with it?
Closing & Integration
We wrapped up the session by reflecting on key takeaways and setting intentions for integrating this knowledge into daily life.
For those with a defined Solar Plexus → Spend time contemplating your channels and gates. For those with an open Solar Plexus → Reflect on the depth of your awareness and how you interact with others' emotions.
As always, share your insights in the comments! What resonated with you the most? What did you learn about your emotional design?
This session was deep, personal, and transformative, giving you the tools to better understand and work with your emotional energy. Looking forward to hearing your reflections! 💬✨
