Event Title: Empowerment for Young Adults: Building a Stronger Community Together
We are excited to announce a transformative event that aims to bring together partnering organizations, agencies, and community members dedicated to empowering and advocating for young adults aged 13 to 24. Join us for the Community Forum on Empowerment and Self-Advocacy, where we will gather to address the challenges faced by young adults who may be dealing with housing insecurity, food insecurity, Â are in need of mentoring and educational support, or in need of essential life skills. These young adults may be in middle school, high school, or college, working or in need of steady employment. The goal of this event is to highlight and discuss areas of stress that are going unsolved and begin to come up with actionable solutions.Â
Event Details:
Date: July 22, 2023
Time: 10:00 am - 12:00 pm
Location: Online Conference (Link to be provided)
At this forum, we have the unique opportunity to hear directly from young adults who are currently struggling and those who have overcome adversity and are now striving for a better future. By lending an ear and empathizing with their experiences, we can gain a deeper understanding of their needs and collectively work towards creating a more supportive community for them.
Our goal is to rally the community around these young individuals, learning from their stories and collaborating to develop strategies that will empower them to thrive. We believe that by joining forces, we can bridge the gaps in public education, provide mentorship, and offer essential life skills training.
During this event, we will introduce the projects Empower Life is developing that are designed to support young adults in their journey toward independence and success:
1. Empowerships: Our Empowership program provides flexible funding for immediate needs, education, housing, mentoring, and more. Through this initiative, we aim to remove financial barriers and empower young adults to pursue their dreams.
2. Workshops and Online Courses: We are developing a series of workshops and online courses that fill the gaps in public education, equipping young adults with the practical skills and knowledge necessary for personal and professional growth.
3. Advocacy and Support Person Training: We are developing advocacy and support person training to empower individuals to become advocates for themselves and their peers, ensuring their voices are heard and their rights are protected.
4. Projects with Partner Organizations: We seek to collaborate with partner organizations to implement projects and initiatives that address the specific needs of young adults, fostering a comprehensive support system.
5. Fundraising and Grantmaking: To sustain and expand our programs and services, we are beginning to engage in fundraising and grantmaking efforts. Your involvement and support in these endeavors are crucial to our collective success.
We invite you to participate in this essential community forum and contribute your ideas, insights, and expertise. Together, we can shape a brighter future for young adults in need. Mark your calendars for July 22, 2023, and join us via the provided online conference link from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm.
In addition to your attendance, we kindly ask for your support in raising funds for our programs and services. Your contribution will directly impact the lives of young adults, providing them with the resources and opportunities they need to build a better future.
